Cast Link Conveyor

Cast link conveyor systems are designed for processing light or heavy production parts and include an integral chute for quenching under atmosphere. Lindberg cast link conveyors are available in gas-fired or electrically heated models. Temperature range to 1750°F.

Gas-Fired Models
These models utilize alloy vertically mounted single-end recuperative radiant tubes. The tubes provide maximum radiant surface area and low surface BTU release for extended service life. They are mounted along each sidewall extending above, below, and beyond the workspace to ensure temperature uniformity.

Electrically Heated Models
Lindberg offers two models of electrically heated cast link conveyors. The Rod Overbend model is designed for hardening applications. The Corrtherm element model is designed for carburizing and carbonitriding applications

  • Rod Overbend Models
These models feature low surface watt release for extended service life and a large diameter to minimize electrical change due to long-term surface oxidation.
  • Corrtherm Models
These models utilize heavy-gauge corrugated Inconel alloy sheet resistor elements that feature maximum radiating surface area and low surface watt release for extended surface life. The elements are mounted along each sidewall extending above, below, and beyond the workspace to ensure uniform temperature. The low voltage design allows for use directly in high carbon potential atmosphere; therefore, inefficient surrounding muffles are not required.

Features / Benefits

  • The cast alloy link belt is of rugged construction, designed for heavy service in continuous operation.
  • A variable speed conveyor drive is standard equipment on all furnaces and provides flexibility for varying loads.
  • Fans are optional for carbonitriding applications.

Options

  • Complete automation possible by using an automatic feeder for small parts.
  • Individual temperature control on each zone ensures complete uniformity of physical characteristics for all light and medium weight work.
  • Hot return belt minimizes heat loss and contributes to high furnace efficiency.
  • Oil, water, or polymer quench tank.
  • Continuous washer and draw furnace.
  • Endothermic, exothermic, nitrogen, natural gas, ammonia, air, or propane additions atmosphere systems.
  • Oxygen probe based automatic furnace carbon control system.
  • Temperature and/or carbon level recorder.

Applications

  • Carbonitriding
  • Carburizing
  • Hardening
  • Annealing
